Use your iPad as a second display!

Recently I’ve been considering purchasing an iPad just because of its recent uproar of new applications being released (in fact recently it was announced that they passed 3,000 apps in the iPad App store). I was obviously searching which apps would actually benefit me so that I know whether I want to purchase one or not, one app that I came across was actually quite cool! This app is called: Air Display, Air Display is an app that allows your iPad to be a second display for any mac that you own (works like dual monitors where you can just drag windows between them). That would really benefit several Mac users (including myself) who are always on the go and multitasking.

I went ahead and some research on this application to see if it is as good as it seems. So far it seems that it works pretty well, even the touch interface works like a mouse. I was thinking a nice possibility was to use it like a cheapĀ miniatureĀ Cintiq. The only problem I’ve seen is that there is a lag probably because it’s not connected directly both computers are connected via WiFi (works like Synergy or Teleport), in theory they should be able to perfect this but I doubt they’ll get it to a level where you can watch a movie on the iPad display. When it comes to just basic windows though and stuff you will probably be doing on the go it should work quite well!

If any of you readers actually have an iPad, do me a favor and try this App out, let me know how well this actually works in the comments below.
