Ford Focus Electric

For those of you who don’t know, I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit so the auto industries affect my life greatly. During the past decade or so, the auto companies here have been doing pretty bad as far as sales and innovation is concerned. During the last few years though they have gone back to their old style of innovation.

One company in particular though has had a tremendous increase in improvement and innovation, this company is Ford. Last year the car that they were focusing on was the Ford Fiesta, which is a fantastic vehicle. Very affordable, high tech, and they advertised it using online media… INTERNET REPRESENT!

For the year of 2011 it looks like Ford is focusing on the new Ford Focus Electric. As you can tell from the video above the Focus Electric adds plenty of new features and is incredibly green… well kind of green.

The coolest feature they added is definitely My Ford Mobile. My Ford Mobile essentially gives you the ability to read the status of your car from anywhere. Your phone essentially works as a wireless reader of your car’s condition, so you can see how your charge level is, where the closest charge stations are, if your car will make it there, etc. This is the one feature that everyone has been hoping for. Now we just need push notifications to our phones when our car alarms go off.
