University of Michigan Students Make A Cheap And Portable Solar Charger For Developing Nations

It’s actually quite shocking how many countries still don’t have stable electricity. Luckily the students over at University of MIchigan have thought about this problem! They apparently developed a price effective way to have electricity everywhere with their portable solar panel called the Emerald. This device doubles as both a light source and a cell phone charger. The Emerald’s light can last up to 8 hours and it’s able to fully charge a phone in the same time it takes a standard outlet. Apparently the target price for the device is under $20 which will make it great for people in developing countries.
